The Metro Richmond Zoo is inviting the community to celebrate Poppy’s first birthday.
The zoo will host a public birthday party on Saturday, December 27, at 12:00 PM at Hippo Haven.
Guests will have the opportunity to watch Poppy enjoy and explore special birthday enrichment alongside her mother, Iris.
To mark the occasion, Poppy’s habitat will be decorated with festive birthday décor. Guests can also visit an activity table with coloring sheets, hippo-themed temporary tattoos, and a birthday banner where visitors can write messages to Poppy. Free birthday stickers will be distributed, and birthday cake will be available for guests while supplies last.
The birthday celebration is included with regular zoo admission. With warmer holiday weather in the forecast, it’s the perfect Saturday to head to the zoo and party with Poppy.
